The developer behind Surgeon Simulator and I am Bread, Bossa Studios, is bringing its next title, Decksplash, to Steam for a free week, beginning on November 2. Decksplash is a skateboarding turf war game that seems to combine aspects of Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding, those popular for a time Fingerboards, and the paint spraying from Splatoon. These sentient skateboards are capable of pulling off a bevy of fantastical moves, and it does this without human riders. What’s not to like, eh?
There is a ‘but’, however, the developer has said that it plans to release the title into Early Access on Steam, but this will only happen if at least 100,000 players take part during the free week. If the game surpasses this target, then it will release the game into Early Access on November 10. Bossa Studios is testing the waters of demand with an open-to-all demo of the game and its features.
Decksplash is all about capturing as much of an area as possible, and this is achieved by nailing combos and cracking out some wicked tricks. Success in this area sees the tarmac being sprayed with your team’s colours. Flaunting your skills and your customised deck will see you gaining the respect of your squad, or at least I’d like to think that.
Those who take part during the free week will be able to carry over all the loot and coins they earn, and their level, into the full game. As well as this, free week players will gain access to the Erik board set, which instantly grants them an exclusive bit of Decksplash history that no one else will be able to get in the future. You’ll be a legend in Fingerboard, and paint spraying heaven.
Decksplash’s free week begins on November 2 on PC, and you can download the game for free from its Steam page.
