The futuristic water racer puts players behind the handlebars of rocket-powered jet skis and tasks them with competing in races, outrunning police boats and defeating bosses “to reach the top of the underground hydro jet racing circuit”.
There’s also support for split-screen and online multiplayer, while an XP system lets players upgrade their jet and rider with new stunts and performance. Full 1080p/60fps support is promised, too.
Renegade is the third game in the Riptide GP series, following three years after Riptide GP2.
“We’ve been hard at work getting Riptide GP: Renegade ready for series fans and new players alike,” said creative director and co-founder Matt Small. “This version has been developed from the ground up for next-gen consoles. We kept what worked, but completely retuned the mechanics and the graphics engine, and we can’t wait for players to get their hands on the game.”
