Video game fandom comes in many shapes and forms. You’ve got the casual franchise followers, who dabble in a title or two from a long-running series but wouldn’t choose it as their Mastermind specialist subject. Then you’ve got the hardcore, the crap-your-pants dedicated, the guys who have tattoos of characters in their special place. The sorts who have decorated their homes as a shrine to Call of Duty or had a Resident Evil-themed wedding.
Now, I’m not judging. Nothing screams happiest day of your life like a wedding cake in the shape of Chris ‘roided out’ Redfield punching a boulder in the goddamn face. All I’m getting at is, anybody who likes a title or franchise is a fan and nobody’s a ‘better’ fan than anybody else.
With all of that said, though, this is the Internet and having a mighty swollen e-peen to brandish at your foes is priceless. Nobody’s better, but some of the faithful are certainly more knowledgeable. Knowledge is power, as the boring old dude my high school was named after once apparently said. So, Final Fantasy fans of all shapes, sizes, pet preferences and waistlines, how powerful are you? Let’s see how well you know Square(-Enix)’s iconic RPGs.
