Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the latest incarnation in the veteran FPS series, has recently begun its second season. Bringing new maps, game modes, and weaponry, the update has breathed fresh life into Modern Warfare’s popular multiplayer.

Just days after the release, another new game mode is on its way, arriving in an upcoming weekly update. Fans of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be familiar with the Reinforce mode, but for those who aren’t, here’s a quick breakdown, as well some top tips on how best to take the win.

Capture the Flag in Modern Warfare Reinforce Matches

Just like in Ghosts and Infinite Warfare, Reinforce in Modern Warfare will involve teams vying over three flags while dealing with limited respawns. However, there will be a difference in the new mode, and that’s that it will be played entirely in night-vision mode, adding an extra degree of difficulty.

With all the opportunities for ambush that come from a night mission, Reinforce players will have to be extra cautious in their movements. There are three ways to win: by capturing all three flags at once, by having the most flags when the round timer ends, or by eliminating all enemies. While the latter may seem the simplest, just like in Modern Warfare’s Cyber Attack, taking a flag will allow downed teammates to respawn, giving an outnumbered team a chance to regain the advantage.

Working Together in Modern Warfare

The key to doing well in Reinforce is working together with Modern Warfare teammates. This isn’t a game mode that favors lone wolves, and two players together stand a better chance of at least trading a death if one of them goes down, if not winning outright. It’s also important to secure the home flag, be it A or C, as quickly as possible, as the team that reaches B first will be at a distinct advantage.

Finally, if everything has gone wrong and the numbers are swinging heavily in the favor of the enemies, players should immediately work out which flag is least defended and head straight for it. Capturing a flag will allow downed teammates to return, potentially turning the direst situation into a win. With the right blend of caution and aggression, combined with a healthy dose of teamwork, any player can help their side to victory in Reinforce.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
