In Season 1 Reloaded, four new guns were added to Modern Warfare 2. Among these is the Honey Badger, known in-game as the Chimera. It’s a well-rounded assault rifle that comes with a handy integrated suppressor saving you an attachment slot. This makes it a fantastic choice for those who opt for the stealthy flanking playstyle. Here’s our guide on how to unlock the Honey Badger, aka the Chimera, in Modern Warfare 2.

How to unlock the Honey Badger – Chimera – in Modern Warfare 2

At the start of Season 1, the Chimera wasn’t available in Modern Warfare 2. However, with the release of Season 1 Reloaded, players can now unlock it through various means. Despite it sharing a platform with both the M13B and BAS-P neither is required to unlock the Chimera.

The easiest method to unlock the Honey Badger in Modern Warfare 2 is to complete the associated multiplayer challenge. This challenge is ‘Get 2 Operator Kills with Assault Rifles in 15 Separate Matches‘. To complete this simply enter any multiplayer game mode, equip an assault rifle, get two kills, leave, and repeat 14 more times.

As with the M13B, the Chimera is also unlockable through Warzone’s new extraction game mode, DMZ. In DMZ you need to extract a unique variant of the Chimera from DMZ Building 21. This involves heading to the location, collecting the gun, and extracting it from Al Mazrah without getting killed. Unfortunately, this building hasn’t been added TO DMZ yet but will be in the near future.

The third and final method is the easiest but also the most expensive. Any players who prioritize their time over money can purchase a Honey Badger variant from Modern Warfare 2‘s in game store. The bundle is named Darkcell and can be purchased for 1200 COD Points.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC via Battle.net and Steam.
