In Call of Duty: Mobile, players might have noticed that some features in the control scheme are somewhat less apparent in their application than others. Even with the added advantage of being able to use a controller, it isn’t always clear how to perform actions that players are used to, and one of these features is sliding.

This week in Call of Duty: Mobile one of the Weekly Challenges is to slide 3 times in a multiplayer match. While players might prefer running and gunning as their style of play, the unpredictability of sliding can provide a myriad of benefits.

How to Slide

Tencent, the developers behind Call of Duty: Mobile, were careful to bring most of the major functionality of the console and PC versions to Call of Duty: Mobile. The 2019 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has carried on the ground sliding tradition that began in Black Ops 4, and luckily Call of Duty: Mobile has emerged no differently.

Luckily, sliding isn’t the only tradition that carried onto Call of Duty: Mobile. To perform a slide, players need to tap the crouch button while running. This will make them enter a slide, which can be very useful for a variety of things and can be just the edge Call of Duty: Mobile players need to make or break their advances.

Benefits of Sliding

Just like in Black Ops 4, sliding in Call of Duty: Mobile is a very effective way to dodge oncoming fire that also grants players the chance at a flashy sliding shot. When players find themselves under intense fire, sliding can prove unpredictable and can help players gain some abrupt control over a firefight.

This benefit is actually twofold, as sliding is perfect for players when they’re advancing into the field towards cover. Just like a runner in baseball that slides into a base, Call of Duty: Mobile players can slide into cover that will give them safe harbor from the onslaught of bullets, a feature that will undoubtedly prove useful to both newbies and veterans alike.

Call of Duty: Mobile is available now for Android and iOS.
