Step 1: Open Zoom
First, we’ll discuss how to share your screen on Zoom with a laptop or desktop. You can do this in two different ways. You’ll want to open up the Zoom app, and from the dashboard, you’ll have the option to start a new meeting, join a meeting, or share your screen with a meeting code.
If you choose to share your screen from the dashboard, you’ll want to click the “share screen” button, enter the meeting code, and then click “share screen” on the prompts.
If you want to start a new meeting before sharing your screen, you can do this now and open a new meeting up.
Step 2: Click The Share Screen Button
Next up, you’ll want to click the “share screen” button located at the bottom of your meeting screen. If you’re not the host of the meeting, you may need to ask for permission. If you are the host, you should be able to share your screen with ease.
Step 3: Choose A Screen
Once you click to share your screen, options of what to share specifically will pop up. If you have dual monitors, they will both show on your screen. You can also share specific windows, share your phone screen (if connected), and even share a whiteboard if you’re a premium user.
From here, you’ll click on which screen you want to share. You can also share with audio by check-marking the “share sound” option in the bottom left corner. Once you’ve made your decision, click the blue “share” button.
Step 4: Share Your Screen
You’ll know that your screen is sharing properly if you see a bar across your computer that says “You are screen sharing”. If you don’t see that bar, you’ll want to follow the above steps again.
How To Share Your Screen On Zoom Via Your Phone
If you’d like to share your phone screen, you can follow the steps we’ve listed above. The biggest difference is that you’ll have more options when it comes to sharing, including web URLs, a whiteboard, your camera, and more.
If you choose to share your screen on zoom via your phone, you’ll need to keep in mind that your phone won’t be able to be used for anything personal while you’re sharing. Anything you pull up can show to others, so be sure to stay professional.
