Can I start a Zoom meeting instantly?

Before we talk about how to set up a Zoom meeting, let’s talk about if you can start a meeting instantly. It is possible to have an instant call. In order to do this, you’ll need to log in and start the meeting from your dashboard. On your dashboard, there will be an option for a “New Meeting”. You can click the button to start the meeting immediately or use the drop-down arrow to create a meeting the way you want.

Step 1: Log In To Your Account

In order to set up a Zoom meeting, you’ll need to have a free or premium account. If you already have an account, you’ll want to log in to the website or open the app on your computer or phone.

Step 2: Navigate To The Schedule Page

If using the Zoom website, you can click the “Schedule” tab at the top right-hand corner once you are logged in. If you have the Zoom app on your computer or phone, you can skip to step three.

Step 3: Set Up Your Zoom Meeting

Now is the time to set up your Zoom meeting. There are many required sections for you to fill out before you can schedule the call. These include;

• The topic of the meeting• The date and time of the meeting• How long the meeting will last (40-minute maximum for free users)• Your time zone• If the meeting is a one-time meeting or a recurring meeting• If you want to use your personal ID or create a new link for the meeting• Meeting room, password, and authentication options• If you want to utilize video and audio for you and other participants, and if you want to record

After you’ve set up these sections, you’ll then be able to click the “Save” button.

If you’re setting up the meeting via the Zoom app on your computer, you’ll want to click the “Schedule” button on the dashboard. From there, you’ll fill in all the same fields, and click the blue “Save” button once you’re done.

Step 4: Save The Meeting

If you don’t fill out the required sections, you will not be able to save your meeting. So if you don’t see the blue button highlighted, look over those fieldsagain!

To ensure the meeting has been set up, you’ll click the blue “Save” button. Zoom will populate with your meeting and the time under the “upcoming meetings” section.

Step 5 (Optional): Add Meeting To Your Calendar

This step is optional. But you can also add your scheduled meeting to your calendar. You can utilize this feature if you use Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo. This will confirm that you’ve set up a meeting, especially if you’re doing so for work.

How To Set Up A Zoom Meeting On Your Phone

Lastly, it’s just as easy to set up a Zoom meeting on your phone as on your computer. You’ll need to have the Zoom app and log in. Then you can simply press the “Schedule” button. A new screen will appear and you’ll fill in the required fields. After you’ve done that, instead of clicking “save” you’ll click the “done” button in the upper right-hand corner.
