The number of followers on your Twitter account tickles you whether you have a business or a personal account. Unfortunately, some of these followers may cause more harm than good. A follower may be abusive, toxic, or ill-behaved on the platform.
If you are completely fed up with them, you can remove them from your followers list or block them. Thankfully, Twitter supports and enables removing a follower or blocking them.

How to Remove Twitter Followers
The option to stop followers from seeing your tweets without blocking them was recently introduced to Twitter. Before Twitter introduced it, users needed to use “soft blocking” which involved blocking a follower and unblocking them before they realize it.
Twitter made soft blocking easier for its users by creating an option to remove a follower without blocking them. Here is how you use this feature:
#1. Removing Followers on Your Desktop
Step 1: Log in to your Twitter account.
Step 2: Click Profile on the left-sidebar
Step 3: Select Followers.
Step 4: Select the account you want to remove and click on the three dots to the right of their name.
Step 5: Click Remove this follower from the menu.
Step 6: Select Remove under the confirmation message.
When you click Remove, you stop this person from following you, and you won’t follow them too. They can still see your profile, but your tweets won’t appear on their timeline.
Twitter won’t inform the person that you removed them from your followers’ list, but they will notice they no longer see your tweets.
#2. Remove Followers on Your Phone
If you are accessing Twitter through your phone, the remove follower option is not available on the Twitter app. Below are the steps to follow when removing a follower on mobile.
Step 1: Open your browser and log in to your Twitter account.
Step 2: On the top lefthand corner, tap on your profile icon.
Step 3: Click on your follower count under Account info.
Step 4: Find the follower you want to remove and tap the three dots to the right of the account name.
Step 5: Select Remove this follower.
Step 6: Click Remove to confirm your choice.
#3. Blocking A Follower on Desktop
Although Twitter offers you the option to remove followers without blocking them, blocking a follower is still an option. After all, a follower you removed can still follow you if you haven’t blocked them.
When you block a follower, they will not see your tweets or profile and cannot follow you again.
Here is how to remove a follower by blocking them.
Step 1: Log into your Twitter account
Step 2: Click on Profile and then Followers.
Step 3: Go to the person you want to block and click on the three dots next to the account.
Step 4: On the menu, select Block.
Step 5: Click Block to confirm.
