Shortcuts To Help You Raise Your Hand in Zoom

If you’re on your desktop or laptop, you don’t need to follow the steps we list below if you don’t want to. In fact, you can use the following shortcuts to raise your hand:

If using Windows: Press “Alt+Y” on your keyboard to raise your hand.

If using Mac: Press “Option+Y” to raise your hand.

How to Raise Your Hand in Zoom

If you don’t like using keyboard shortcuts, that’s okay! Here’s how to raise your hand in Zoom if using a Mac or Windows desktop or laptop.

Step 1: Sign Into Zoom

First, you’ll need to be logged into Zoom in order to join a meeting and raise your hand. Once you’ve signed in, you can click to join the meeting of your choosing.

Step 2: Click the Reactions Button

Now that you’ve joined the meeting, you’ll have the option to raise your hand at any time, as long as the host has enabled the feature. In order to do this, you’ll first click the ‘Reactions’ button at the bottom of your screen.

Step 3: Choose the Raise Hand Option

Once you’ve clicked the ‘Reactions’ button, it will pop up with a few different options, including emojis. But you’ll simply need to click the ‘Raise Hand’ button. This will alert the host that you’ve raised your hand. It will also show on your screen.

How to Lower Your Hand in Zoom

Once your question has been answered or you’ve said what you need to say, you can press the ‘Lower Hand’ button. If you don’t do that, your hand will stay raised.
