Kirby and the Forgotten Land has finally arrived, bringing the iconic pink blob into a 3D world teeming with hidden secrets and adorable little enemies to take down. It’s a perfect family game to play with kids or just casual players. Here’s everything you need to know about playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land in co-op.
Playing Co-Op in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Controlling Bandana Dee as Player Two
Bandana Waddle Dee has slightly different controls to Kirby as he can’t float like the titular pink blob.
Complete the opening level that acts as the game’s tutorial. Press + on your Joy-Con/ Pro Controller to open the menu screen. Select the ‘Play Co-Op’ option and press A. Connect another Pro Controller to your Switch, or split your Joy-Cons to make two mini controllers. Bandana Waddle Dee will join Kirby on-screen and will be the character for player two
It can perform the same sliding attack that Kirby does by pressing ZL & A, and can also use its spear to quickly stab at enemies by pressing B repeatedly.
Finally, if you hold B and point the left analog stick in a direction, Waddle Dee can throw its spear in that direction. A red star target appears on the floor to indicate exactly where it’ll land, which is helpful in the 3D plain of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Is There Online Co-Op?
No, Kirby and the Forgotten land is strictly local multiplayer.
