For those of you who pre-ordered a copy of Red Dead Redemption from GameStop will be privy to the Deadly Assassin outfit (which sounds redundant to me). There are some steps however, that you must go through in order to earn the outfit in-game. What steps are those? Well, have a gander below, pardner (minor spoilers):

  • Win a Duel in Armadillo — Travel to the town of Armadillo, and accept the challenge to fight a duel. Just make sure to win. Capture or Kill Mo Van Barr — While in Armadillo, find the wanted poster for Mo Van Barr, accept the Bounty Hunting mission and bring this notorious member of the Walton Gang to justice, dead or alive. Solve the Mystery of the Missing Townsfolk — People have been disappearing for weeks from the outskirts of Armadillo. Track down the clues, solve the mystery and live to tell the tale. Search Coot’s Chapel — Find the ruins of Coot’s chapel in the wilds of Cholla Springs, and search it for treasure. Complete the Twin Rocks Hideout — Find the legendary criminal hideout of Twin Rocks, located North of the town of Armadillo, to complete this final challenge.

It’s nice to see the tiny bits of things you’ll be doing in the world once you get started. What I’m most excited for is dueling…who didn’t watch “The Quick and the Dead” and wish they could do that? In addition, treasure hunting, mystery solving, and criminal hideouts? Sounds like Mr. Marston will be a little busy during his time in the West. These details are a nice glimpse into the large world you’ll be able to explore.

Red Dead Redemption will explore the uncharted, wild western frontier on May 18, 2010.
