With Modern Warfare 2 finally here, everyone can now play the brilliant campaign. You can find out how it’ll take you to complete and a full list of the MW2 campaign rewards for doing so right here.
This year’s game is split into three pillars – Campaign, Special Ops and Multiplayer. This allows you to just install and download what you want, without messing around with the bits you don’t. There will also be Warzone 2 arriving later this month. Here then, is how to install the Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
How to install the MW2 campaign
First off, you’ll need to buy and install the base game – so head to your console or PC’s library to download the main file – which will likely be the biggest download.
Remember, if you have opted to buy the game on disk, the disk itself only contains around 70MB of data. That means you’ll have to download he additional 130GB in order to play.
Once that’s done, you’ll have to install 2 Campaign Packs – these are classed as ‘add-ons’ – so getting them will depend on your format.
For example, on PlayStation you’ll want to press Menu on the game’s tile, then select “Manage Game and Add Ons” from the menu that pops up.
Here should be a list of all the game add-ons. Be sure to select any with “Campaign” in them, and start downloading. Once that’s done – you should be ready to go.
It’s largely the same story on Xbox – head to the game’s tile in My Games and Apps, then select “Manage Game and Add-ons” – check in there, and make sure anything you want to download is ticked.
Once you’ve done this, it’s just a matter of waiting until Activision switch on your access to Campaign mode. You can check when that will be here.
Finally, when you’re done with the campaign and want to free up space, here’s how to uninstall the MW2 campaign. This may come in handy, as Warzone 2 will likely be a pretty hefty install.
