Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted update marks the addition of a new PVP map, Iron Banner rework, balance adjustments, and more. As always, Bungie has also introduced multiple brand-new resources or currencies, and Vestiges of Dread is one of them. Destiny 2 players will require Vestiges of Dread for the new Nightmare Containment activity to “bind maligned presence.” Besides this, the new currency is also used to complete the Bound in Sorrow weekly mission. Therefore, farming Vestiges of Dread in Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted is mandatory to make progress in the game.

How to Get Vestiges of Dread in Destiny 2

There are three ways to get Vestiges of Dread in Season of the Haunted:

Defeating Combatants and Nightmares

Players can get Vestiges of Dread by thrashing combatants and Nightmares. They usually spawn in a large number on the Derelict Leviathan, specifically the Castellum. So we highly recommend looking for them there to farm the resources quickly.

Opening Chests

One of the easiest ways to get Vestiges of Dread in Destiny 2 is by opening chests. These chests can be found at multiple locations, and players can look for them while exploring the ship. On top of that, players can receive these chests by beating High-Value Targets.

Complete Playlist Activities

Destiny 2 rewards its players with Vestige of Dread upon the completion of playlist activities. These activities are commonly found in Crucible, Vanguard Strikes, and Gambit. So it’s an effective method to farm Vestiges of Dread in Destiny 2.

Apart from the Vestiges of Dread, Destiny 2 Season of the Haunted also brings new seasonal resources such as Opulent Umbral Energy, Figments of Darkness, and Opulent Keys. The grind for the resources seems relatively long this season. Fortunately, players have around three months to farm them.
