Kingdom Come: Deliverance, the realistic medieval RPG from Warhorse Studios, released to a warm critical reception in early 2018. Set in 15th century Bohemia, Kingdom Come focuses on the life of Henry, the peasant son of a respected blacksmith, as he is caught up in an invasion from the neighboring kingdom of Hungary.
As a medieval peasant, accumulating wealth isn’t easy for Henry, especially as he starts the game with few skills, and the ability to read not being one of them. This is a problem for those Xbox players trying to complete the Game Pass Quest this month, which requires them to collect 20 Groschen, the currency of Bohemia. To help Henry overcome his peasant disadvantage, here are the fastest ways to earn money in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Unchivalrous Behavior
Unfortunately for those players who’d prefer their Henry to be a paragon of knightly virtue, the best ways to make money in feudal Bohemia require dirtying his hands a little. The first of these unchivalrous methods is simple theft, either through lockpicking chests or picking pockets.
While Henry can acquire a few Groschen directly through these pursuits, the real value is in selling the stolen goods to an unscrupulous merchant. New players should be aware that none of these mechanics are available until after they’ve paid back Miller Peshek in Rattay, either with Groschen or a favor. Selling stolen goods is particularly effective with a good haggling ability, which will allow Henry to charge even more for his ill-gotten goods.
Bounty Hunter
The best method for making Groschen for those players who don’t want to stoop to larceny is by leveraging Henry’s RPG combat skills. With the Hungarian king’s Cuman allies raiding the Bohemian countryside alongside the local bandits, there’s plenty of call for brave souls to trim their numbers.
Sir Robard in Talmberg will pay handsomely for the ears of every yellow-armored Cuman that Henry brings him, while Captain Bernard in Rattay will pay similarly for the ears of bandits. To collect ears Henry must first kill his target (they tend to object otherwise), and then interact with their body with a dagger in his inventory. Collecting ears may not be the most noble of professions, but at least it’s a step above thieving in the eyes of Bohemia’s people.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
