Saving a website as a Favorite on Mac is a great way to keep it easily accessible. You should favorite sites that you often use, like ones for school, emails, or work. Favorites on a Mac are essentially just a form of Bookmark. In fact, Favorites is a folder underneath Bookmarks. Anything you add to the Favorites folder will automatically show up in the Favorites section on a new tab. Best of all, these will transfer over to your other devices, including iPhones and iPads, if you have sharing settings between devices enabled.
Step 1: Open Safari

With Safari open, click on the Share button on the top right side of the screen. It is a square box with an arrow sticking pointing upward.
Step 3: Select Bookmark
After clicking the Share button, a dropdown menu will appear with a range of options, such as sending the webpage to an email. Select the “Add Bookmark” option from the dropdown menu.
Step 4: Choose Location
A popup window will open after clicking “Add Bookmark,” where you can select exactly how the page saves and its name.
The default location is favorites, but you can change the location or even create a new group of favorites. Also, be sure to change the Bookmark’s name and add a description if necessary.

Once you are done making changes, go ahead and click the add button to save the Bookmark. The site will now be visible with the rest of your bookmarked pages.
Access Favorite Websites on Mac
Now that you’ve favorited a website, you probably want to know how to open it. Any site placed in the Favorites folder will show up on a new tab. To access these sites, just open a new tab in Safari and select the site you want to open.
Alternatively, click on the side panel icon, which is located on the top left side of the Safari internet browser. This will always show up in Safari, regardless of which site you are on.
Once the side panel is open, click on “Bookmarks.” Favorites are just a category under Bookmarks, so you will need to click on the “Favorites” option in the side panel to pull up the list of sites.
Edit Favorite Websites on Mac
At some point, you will probably want to edit or delete a favorite site. Start by locating the site you want to edit either in a new tab or on the side panel through Bookmarks. Then right-click on the site to bring up a dropdown menu.
You can choose from a range of options, but the most common choices are “Rename” or “Delete.” Renaming changes the labeling of the site so you can put something more descriptive. On the other hand, “Delete” permanently removes the site from your Favorites section.
You can also modify and delete other bookmarked pages that are not part of the Favorites folder. Just follow the same steps and right-click on the site you want to edit or delete.
Search for a Bookmark
In the event you have too many bookmarked pages, it may be too hard to sort through. Don’t panic; you don’t have to read each site to find the right one. To easily locate a bookmarked site, go to Safari and click on “Bookmarks” in the top menu bar. Then choose “Edit Bookmarks” to bring up the Bookmark manager.
All of your bookmarks and favorites will be listed here but categorized into folders. However, you don’t have to open every one. Just go to the top of the page and use the search box to help find any bookmarked page. Finally, click on the website from a narrowed-down list to open it.
