Yesterday’s Destiny 2 update brought a whole lot of new content for Season of Dawn players including the return of The Dawning. This holiday inspired event is around for the next four weeks and focuses on players obtaining ingredients and recipes in order to make holiday treats for most of the major NPCs in the game. Thankfully, for those who played last year’s event, most of the recipes are still unlocked and ready to go, with a handful of new ones left to be uncovered.

As expected, once unlocked, players then need to ensure they have the correct ingredients in order to make the baked goods. This aspects is likely where most Destiny 2 players will be slowed as each component can be earned from doing specific things in game such as defeating the different enemy factions, using specific weapon types, elemental types, and more. Thankfully, one player has found an easier way to farm many of the recipe components without having to fast travel around the solar system.

During the Season of Opulence, Bungie added a Tribute Hall where players could go and ultimately unlock the Bad Juju exotic pulse rifle. The location was also a makeshift firing range as players could summon virtual enemies without fear of being shot at. While most players have likely left this place behind, one Reddit user has discovered that it’s also a great location to farm Dawning ingredients.

Whether intentional or not, players can earn the various ingredient materials from fighting simulated enemies. Better yet, players get access to all enemy types without having to travel to different destinations. However, the trick doesn’t appear to be working for everyone as there are a few comments in the thread saying they loaded into the area multiple times and still can’t get materials to drop. It’s unknown if this is intended behavior or if Bungie will get around to correcting it at some point.

If this is a glitch or bug, then it joins a rapidly expanding list of issues that have managed to surface this year. Some are fairly harmless like the ones that remove the bottom part of Osiris’ Warlock robes, but others are starting to impact gameplay. Quests are not always appearing in the inventory of Osiris, the newly added EDZ Obelisk is also bugged for some players, the Telesto once again broken, there are new reports that the exotic trait on the Polaris Lance is no longer working correctly, and much more. Clearly, Bungie has its hands full even though fans are generally happy with how this season has turned out.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
