With the arrival of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2’s Battle Pass, players are racking up the points and trying to earn rewards like operator skins, calling cards and COD Points.
To earn these items, players need precious Battle Tokens – and if you’re wondering how to get these in MW2 – here’s where we can help.

How To Earn Battle Tokens in MW2
Put simply – you earn Battle Tokens by playing the game. To elaborate – with the Battle Pass, you’ll earn XP towards said Battle Pass every time you play.
This Battle Pass XP is separate from your player level XP, and at the time of writing, the rate hasn’t been officially revealed. The community is no doubt hard at work on trying to calculate it, but for now our only indication is the bar that’ll fill after every match.
Playing isn’t the only way to earn Battle Tokens, of course – you can buy these Battle Token skips with real money. Or you can also get a bunch of Battle Token Tier skips by buying the Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition.
The Vault Edition includes a whopping 50 Tier Skips. Considering there’s only 100 tokens total in this first season, that’ll get you half of the entire Battle Pass instantly.
MW2 Battle Tokens Explained
In case you’re not aware – MW2’s Battle Pass works a little differently than previous games. Rather than a linear track, your Battle Pass is now a map broken up into zones.
Each of these zones has four rewards, and a “High Value Target” or HVT. Each of these rewards – and the HVT – costs 1 Battle Token to unlock.
First, you can unlock the four rewards in any order you choose. (However, you will need to own the Battle Pass to use all but one of these rewards.) Once they’re unlocked, you can spend a token on the HVT.
When you’ve done that, you’ve completed that sector – and can then choose an adjacent sector to move to, and start unlocking the rewards there. This continues until you’ve unlocked the entire map, and all the Battle Pass rewards are yours.
