If you have just brought Alexa to your smart home, you’ll have to follow a thorough process to set the device up. But once it’s paired with your Bluetooth, it will quickly reconnect on your voice command. Just follow the below 7 steps to connect Alexa to Bluetooth without any hassle:

Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on Your Phone

First, you must turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone. If it’s Android, head to the “Settings” option and tap “Connected Devices.” Then, turn on the toggle present next to the “Bluetooth.” When it’s turned blue, Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.

If you have an iPhone, open its Settings, tap Bluetooth, and then turn on the toggle present next to Bluetooth. The toggle will turn green to indicate that Bluetooth is enabled.

Step 2: Put Your Device in Discoverable Mode

The next step is to make your device discoverable. The discoverable mode is also called “pairing mode” on some smartphones. Typically, phones automatically go into discovery mode when you enable Bluetooth.

However, if you’re trying to connect Alexa to a device without any screen, you might need to take help from its manual. Putting the device in the discovery or pairing mode is essential to connect it to Alexa via Bluetooth.

Step 3: Download the Alexa App

Step 4: Open Settings in the Alexa App

In the app, tap the three-line icon “☰” located in the top left corner of the screen. Next, scroll down the menu and select Settings present at the bottom.

Step 5: Choose Your Alexa Device

Next, choose the Alexa device you want to pair with your phone. Find its name and tap on it. On the next screen, tap “Bluetooth” and then “Pair a New Device” to allow Alexa to search for nearby devices available for pairing.

Step 6: Pair Alexa To Your Device

When your phone’s name appears in the list, tap it to pair your device with Alexa. Both devices will now connect, meaning you can use and command Alexa from your phone.

Step 7: Voice Command Alexa To Connect To Bluetooth

Then, command Alexa to connect to Bluetooth by saying, “Alexa, pair Bluetooth,” and Alexa will instantly search for available devices and connect to them. Remember, Alexa will only connect to the device it was paired with earlier from the app.

If there are two Bluetooth devices in the pairing mode, Alexa will automatically connect to the one it was connected to last. You can also disconnect Alexa from your device by saying, “Alexa, disconnect.” If you want to unpair, you can replace the disconnect from the command with “unpair.”

Note: If you face issues connecting Alexa to Bluetooth via voice commands, you can simply use the Alexa app. Sometimes, Alexa becomes confused when there is more than one available Bluetooth device.

How To Connect Alexa To Bluetooth Speakers

You need to ensure a few things to connect Alexa to Bluetooth speakers. First, you must put your Echo at least 3 feet apart from your Bluetooth speakers. This way, both devices will be within each other’s Bluetooth range. Second, you should send the Bluetooth speakers in pairing mode by enabling Bluetooth.

Third and last, your Bluetooth speakers should be disconnected from all the other devices other than the Alexa device. Once you ensure all of these things, you can follow the below steps to connect Alexa to Bluetooth speakers easily:

Step 1: Open the Devices Menu in the Alexa App

Open the Alexa app on your smartphone and tap on the devices represented by a house-like icon in the bottom right corner of the app. From the Devices menu, tap on the Echo you want to connect to the Bluetooth speaker.

Step 2: Tap Bluetooth Devices

On the next screen, tap “Bluetooth Devices.” Select “Pair a New Device,” and you will have a list of devices available for pairing.

Step 3: Find Your Speaker’s Model Number

From the devices list, find the model number of your Bluetooth speaker. Typically, the number is mentioned at the bottom of the speaker. For instance, here it is CK207.

Step 4: Select the Bluetooth Speakers To Connect It To Alexa

Once you find your Bluetooth speaker’s model number in the available devices list, tap on it. Both devices will connect, and you can now listen to music on your Echo and the Bluetooth speaker simultaneously.

Next time you want to use Echo and the speaker together, you can simply command Alexa to connect with the speaker. Since Alexa already recognizes the Bluetooth speaker, it will immediately connect.
