Destiny 2’s latest Season of Dawn brings a lot of new features and modes to the game. In the newest Sundial activities, players will have to team-up with Osiris to protect Mercury and the Sundial from the Red Legion that wants to take over the Sundial to change history for their nefarious purposes. There are several Sundial encounters that the players must face and complete to finish the activities; these include Datamine, Gatecrash, Bombardment, and fighting Niruul, the Hollow Voice. However, before players can go challenging the final boss, they must complete all the other missions.
The first mission in Destiny 2’s Sundial is Datamine, which is not that difficult to complete, so players will have no problem clearing it; however, those who are unaware of the strategy may find themselves in a bit of trouble when trying to complete this particular mission. Luckily, this guide is going to show Destiny 2 fans the exact way they can complete the Datamine mission and progress towards fighting the final boss in the Sundial.
How to Complete the Datamine in Destiny 2’ Sundial
Datamine requires players to hold a spot or a point similar to Control in the Crucible mode. Waves of enemies will constantly spawn to drive players off the point, and players must kill all the enemies without leaving the spot. When players are in standing the circle surrounding the plate, it will start filling up slowly. Psion commanders will also spawn to hinder players’ progress, and players can not kill them with abilities or guns as they will have protective bubbles.
In order to kill the Psion Commanders, players must melee attack them, which one-shots them. However, getting close to them might be a problem as they might sometimes spawn in hard to reach places like on top of pillars. When Psion commanders spawn, they make a very distinctive sound, so listen to the sound and hunt them as soon as they spawn. When players complete the progress on the point, a powerful enemy will spawn, and players must defeat it before moving onto the next point. There are three points that players must capture to complete the Datamine mission and move onto Gatecrash, which is the next mission in the Sundial encounters.
Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
