At the beginning of a save in Football Manager 2023, you have complete control of your football club. This can be overwhelming for some managers.

Depending on your management style, you may not want to deal directly with the Media or Training players. This is why we thought it would be handy to break down how to change responsibilities in FM23.

To activate and change staff responsibilities, you must take the following steps.

  • In the home menu, visit the staff screen on the left side of the screen. In the top left corner of the screen, click on Responsibilities. In the Responsibilities tray, your responsibilities are grouped into Overview, Staff, Advice and Reports, Scouting, Transfer and Contracts, Media, Training, Tactics and Match day. As a default setting, You have complete control over your club’s activities from the first team all the way to the U21s and U18s.  Click on any of the groups in the responsibilities tray and delegate the tasks you want.

Some of the tasks you can delegate include

Delegating tasks to background staff is useful when you either do not have a clear idea of how to perform the tasks or are not interested in taking on those particular responsibilities. You can always return to this page when you are more experienced and sure of the type of manager you want to be.

Delegating will help you load the game faster and get into the action quicker while maintaining control over the background elements you enjoy.
