Fortnite’s addictive gameplay continues to bring in new players, a trajectory that doesn’t appear like it’s stopping any time soon. Despite being around for the past five years, Epic Games continues to release new content such as game modes and cosmetic goodies. Its popularity shouldn’t be understated, but it does beg the question: how many people play Fortnite?

Fortnite Player Count

Though Epic Games doesn’t outright give us an answer, the website PlayerCounter gives us an estimate; according to PlayerCounter, Fortnite has 2 to 3 million players enjoying the game at any given point. It’s a significant player base, but pales in comparison to the 350 million registered accounts.

How does Fortnite keep so many active players? As mentioned before, Fortnite is still being supported to this day with new content, in addition to bug fixes and polish. For example, Fortnite recently ushered in Chapter 3, Season 4.

More importantly, Fortnite has a very low barrier of entry. It’s available on every major platform: Xbox One, Series X and S, PS4, PS5, iOS and Android, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and the Nintendo Switch.

Now you know how many people play Fortnite and why; its gameplay is incredibly straightforward, not to mention easily accessible to most gamers.
