The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been arguably the biggest shared universe of films since its inception with 2008’s Iron Man. It revolutionized the idea of a shared film universe and has been home to some of the biggest, highest-grossing films of all time. How Many Movies Are in the MCU?
As of right now, there have been 29 films released as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the 30th film set to release later this year. The Marvel Cinematic Universe also divides its films into phases; Phases One and Two each consist of six films, while Phase Three consists of a whopping 11 films. These 23 films make up the first “saga” of the MCU, known as “The Infinity Saga.”
The MCU is currently in Phase Four, with six films currently released and the seventh, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, set to be released later this year as the 30th film in the canon. Phase Five will tentatively include six films, while Phase Six currently includes four films. Should the release dates hold up, this will make 40 films in the MCU, and the 17 included in these three phases will make up “The Multiverse Saga.”
