Asobo Studios’ 2019 indie gem was a short but sweet experience that reminded us that quality is always more important than quantity. For the sequel, though, the studio is upping the ante and expanding the game’s horizons with a longer story and more content. If you’re wondering how long a Plague Tale Requiem takes to beat, here’s what you need to know.

How Long Is A Plague Tale: Requiem?

A Plague Tale Requiem is slightly longer than its predecessor, taking about 12-18 hours for a normal playthrough, and 20-25 for a completionist playthrough.

That all being said, if for whatever reason you are intent on beelining straight through the main story and nothing else it would take just 6-8 hours, which is comparable to the original game.

There are 17 chapters (including an epilogue of sorts) that you’ll need to play through in order to see the credits roll. The good news is if you miss any of the Souvenir, Flower or Feather collectibles, you can use a Chapter Select option to jump straight back into any chapter you’ve already played whenever you want.

Again, though, Asobo Studio has this time around put a strong focus on giving players the freedom to explore beyond the beaten path, and that’s something we would expect most players to want to engage with and therefore increase their playtime.

It should be noted that in addition to merely bolstering the weight of the game’s story, these larger areas also feature several collectible items to find.

That should be everything you need to know about how long a Plague Tale Requiem takes to beat. For more useful tips and guides on the game, search Twinfinite or check out the related content listed below.
