If you’ve popped into your local Hot Topic recently, you might have noticed some new items on the walls, as officially licensed Critical Role merchandise is now available there.

A Critter named Richard Hernandez, frequently discovers and posts links to the clothes worn by the cast of Critical Role, found a Critical Role hoodie at his local Hot Topic, which was then shared on Twitter. Many were a little skeptical about the authenticity of the merchanise until Laura Bailey, who keeps track of items found at the official Critical Role online store, confirmed in a Tweet that it is indeed legitimate.

The news exploded on Twitter as Critters collectively ran to their closest Hot Topic to pick up some new gear. Critical Role hasn’t released an official statement about the products that are being offered at Hot Topic, nor has Hot Topic updated its website to showcase these items. Therefore, we do not have a confirmed, comprehensive list of the Critical Role merchandise being offered at this time.

This is an exciting step for Critical Role, which currently already runs its own online shops in the U.S. and U.K., but has expressed interest in expanding its merchandising plans in the past. The CR products available at Hot Topic have been designed specifically for the store and feature the art of some very talented Critters. In addition, it seems that Hot Topic has added some D&D merchandise as well.

It seems as though different Hot Topic locations offer different Critical Role items, so we’re very excited to see the full list of merchandise offered hopefully very soon. Based on the buzz created on the internet almost immediately after the news of this merchandise dropped, it seems like these items will be flying off the shelves.
