Guerrilla Games has offered fans the first look at the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West running on the older PlayStation 4 consoles in a new set of screens.

On the studio’s Twitter account, the team noted how most, if not all, of the glimpses we’ve had of Aloy’s next adventure so far had been on PlayStation 5. However, it’s worth noting that the game is not a next-gen exclusive, and as such they’ve decided to release some new screens showing the game on the older system.

According to the studio, the game “looks – and plays – stunning on the PlayStation 4” and it’s hard to argue with the results. The team hasn’t mentioned if these shots are from a standard PS4 or a PS4 Pro, but it’s still incredibly impressive to see the vast landscapes we’ll be running through when the game launches.

Of course, it helps that its predecessor was no slouch in the graphics department either. Even if you’re one of the many still trying to get hold of a PlayStation 5, you should still have a great time with the game. And of course, when you do get hold of one, you’ll be entitled to a free upgrade, thanks to a u-turn from Sony earlier this year.

Check out the Horizon Forbidden West PlayStation 4 screenshots for yourself below. For comparison’s sake, we’ve also thrown in a new trailer for the game from last week, with footage from the PlayStation 5. Horizon Forbidden West lands on February 18, 2022.
