Hogwarts Legacy PC system requirements have been revealed – and they are surprisingly non-taxing for current-gen hardware, especially for those targeting low or recommended settings. There are, however, a few areas that will require some pretty decent bandwidth.

In order to play the latest Harry Potter universe game on minimum / low, you’ll need 16GB of RAM. This means that older laptops that have 8GB of RAM may struggle to play the game.

The good news is that the 4GB VRAM requirement isn’t particularly demanding. This means those with older generation graphics cards should be able to have a semi-decent experience with Hogwarts on PC.

Note, you’re going to be getting an output resolution of 720p and 30 FPS. While playable, expect to take a hit compared to other modes on graphics and performance.

Things get dialed up a notch but not to extreme levels for Recommended and High Specs. Here, 16GB will be enough but you’ll need a slightly more powerful GPU. Encouragingly, the aging 1080Ti and AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or newer Intel Arc A770 will be enough here.

This hardware will power resolutions of 1080p with High Quality graphics settings at 60 FPS. For many, it’s Recommended where most hardware will feel at home.

For those looking to crank up and get the best possible experience on Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll need a whopping 32GB of memory and a GPU that’s boasting around 8-10GB of VRAM.

The developers recommend an RTX 2080Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT as the recommended cards to enjoy the game at Ultra settings. This hardware will allow you to output Hogwarts Legacy at 1440p with a claimed 60 FPS.

Again, there is quite a signifcant ramp up for those wanting to run the game at 4K Ultra. Here, you’ll need 32GB RAM and at least a 3090TI or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.

Be warned, Ultra 4K is clearly targeting enthusiasts, so expect only the very top-end hardware to run this mode effectively should you want to hit the claimed 60 FPS at 2160p.

Of course, there is further information on the PC specs on Steam should you need a deeper dive but overall, Hogwarts Legacy won’t hinder many systems at launch, especially those playing at Recommended or Low settings.
